Product Description

Introduction:

Coaxial cables are commonly used by cable operators, phone companies and Internet providers around the world to transmit data, video and voice communications to customers. It has also become widely used in the home.

Coaxial cable as a technology has been around for a long time (since the early 1900s) and has many unique advantages for reliable, accurate transmission.

It also has some limitations that in some cases cause it to be replaced by fiber-optic cables, category cables or sometimes by wireless signals.

The key to coaxial cable's success is its shielded design, which enables the copper core of the cable to transmit data quickly without being disturbed or damaged by environmental factors.

Construction:

A coaxial cable is a type of cable whose inner conductor is surrounded by an insulating layer, surrounded by a conductive shield. Many also have insulating coats. The following figure illustrates the structure of a typical cable. The electrical signal flows through the central conductor.

1. Center conductor -- copper-clad steel.

2. Center conductor bonding - Clean peel polymer is used to prevent water migration.

3. Dielectric - polyethylene provides mechanically stable closed-cell foam with high VP.

4. The first outer conductor -- a shielding layer firmly bonded to the dielectric core with an aluminum-polymer aluminum strip.

5. Second outer conductor - An additional aluminum-polymeric aluminum strip is used in triple and quadruple shield structures to further enhance high frequency shield isolation before and after bending.

6. Third outer conductor - Additional aluminum-polymeric aluminum-strips are used in triple and quadrushield structures to further enhance high frequency shielding isolation before and after bending.

7. Fourth outer conductor - an additional 34 or 36 AWG aluminum braid is used in a four-shield structure to further improve low frequency shielding isolation in extreme RF noise environments.

Underground - A fluid compound that seals small jacket breaks.

9. Sheath -- UV-stabilized outer sheath of polyethylene (PE) or flame retardant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) can be used to protect core wires during installation and extend cable installation life.

10. Integral Messenger - a galvanized carbon steel wire support member connected to the cable through a detachable mesh.
