We got an inquiry from a medical beauty company who asked for a 4- core multi core cable data use medical device cable with O.D. no more than 2.5mm. we studied carefully the requirement, and decided to use FEP as insulation, so we can make a thinner, lighter cable, 4x30 awg which is good for data and signal transmission. For the outer sheath, we have 2 choices, one is FEP, the other is silicone, considering the cable is connecting the medical device and moving installation points, we finally chose silicone as jacket, it’s flexible enough and oil-resistant, anti-bio performance which are workable for medical appliances.

Actually, for medical use, we need to consider the Outer Diameter, as most appliances-mold is ready, cable supplier has limitation of the O.D. to design a medical cable, secondly, we need to take the actual application into account, how many cores for data use, we need to use small gauges, for medical use, the Voltage usually very low, for this example, we take 30 awg. And finally, the outer jacket is very important, as we have to face movable installation, so the material must be flexible, bear resistant, oil, resistant and Anti bacteria.
